LOCATION: Fourth Avenue Building (FAB)
DURATION: 9/9/2025 to 9/22/2025
PROJECT INFORMATION: City of Portland Facilities is replacing two air handlers and removing a chiller from the 2nd floor mechanical room.
PROJECT BENEFITS: Replacing equipment that is beyond end of life with new, energy efficient units.
IMPACT: Equipment will be moved in/out of the mechanical room through the upper portion of Stair 3. During this time, rigging equipment will be set up for safe movement of equipment to and from the 2nd floor. Railing will be temporarily removed while equipment is actively being moved and temporary railing will be installed at all other times.
ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: During this time, regular egress from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor will be unavailable. In the event of an emergency evacuation, the stairwell could be utilized for egress. The stairway could also be used for evacuation assistance if one was not able to safely navigate the stairs during an emergency.
