UPCOMING IMPACT NOTICE

FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION
* * Deans, Directors & Department Chairs: Please distribute to your department personnel * *

LOCATION: Vanport Building (VB)

DURATION: 4/22/2026 from 7:00:00 AM to 12:00:00 PM

PROJECT INFORMATION: MacDonald Miller (our HVAC service provider) will be on-site on Wednesday, April 22 beginning at 7AM to complete the freeze protection work on the building's Chiller (which is located on the roof). The work being done on Wednesday, April 22 is primarily to replace valves. A single MacDonald Miller vehicle will be utilizing the loading dock during this time frame and they've been instructed to not block the trash room double-doors and to provide as much loading dock access as possible so both planned and unplanned deliveries can occur.

PROJECT BENEFITS: Once completed, this project will provide important freeze protection to the building's Chiller and help mitigate future repair needs.

IMPACT: While this work is commencing, the Chiller will be off-line. The Chiller is expected to be off-line until Noon. However, MacDonald Miller will work to restore service by 10AM, if not sooner. Intermittent light construction noise from the roof may be heard with the 7th floor mostly impacted. However, Chiller work has been done in the past with little to no impact to the building. Management appreciates your patience and understanding while the Chiller is off-line for up to five hours on Wednesday, April 22nd. Also, management will address all HVAC Work Orders received on Wednesday, April 22 once the Chiller is back on-line.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: There will be no right-of-way accessibility impacts and the loading dock will be available to accept both planned and unplanned deliveries during the duration of this work. Also, roof access will still be possible and existing roof walkways will not be blocked or impeded.
