LOCATION: Richard and Maurine Neuberger Center (RMNC)
DURATION: 1/5/2026 to 2/15/2026
PROJECT INFORMATION: The two main building Air Handling Units (AHU-01 & 02) will be fully replaced as a part of this project, which began October 18, 2025. This project will have multiple impacts throughout it's duration that include three crane picks, brief electrical shut downs and impacts to the building's Heating Ventilation and Cooling Systems (HVAC). Future impact notices will be sent out to communicate all project impacts as they come up and in greater detail.
PROJECT BENEFITS: Replace two aging Air Handler Units that are beyond their useful life. This project will improve occupant comfort by improving airflow, making the building's HVAC system more reliable and maintainable.
IMPACT: During winter break, there were several issues resulting in cold temperatures in the building. Some of these have been resolved, some are continuing to be worked with the contractor, and others are likely to persist to some degree until all of the equipment is installed, and balancing and tuning has been complete.
Lower floors have experienced colder than normal temperatures, while upper floors have experienced warmer than normal temperatures. Average building temperatures range between 66-74°F, though there are few outliers showing space temperatures in the low 60's, and some that are approaching 80°F. Temperatures will continue to be monitored and adjusted throughout the day as needed.
ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: Individuals may experience uncomfortable temperatures in the building.
