PROJECT INFORMATION: SMSU Mezzanine Elevator (Car 15) Shutdown:

As part of the SMSU Critical Infrastructure Project, the SMSU Mezzanine Elevator (Car 15) will undergo a comprehensive modernization. This elevator serves the Basement, First Floor, Mezzanine 1, Mezzanine 2, and Mezzanine 3 levels of the building.

To complete this work safely and efficiently, the elevator will be fully shut down and unavailable for use at any time during the construction period. The modernization will include upgrades to key mechanical, electrical, and control systems to improve reliability, safety, and long-term performance.

PROJECT BENEFITS: To replace critical building equipment that is beyond their useful life and which will improve the efficiency and reliability of the the building's HVAC and Elevators.

IMPACT: g the shutdown of the SMSU Mezzanine Elevator (Car 15), access to the Basement and Mezzanine 1, Mezzanine 2, and Mezzanine 3 levels will be rerouted through the adjacent stairwell (S105) and the service elevator (E116). The service elevator (E116) is located within the CESU suite (Suite 119).

Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm: CESU staff will be available to provide access to the service elevator. Individuals needing access should check in with the CESU office. If pickup is needed from another floor, please call the CESU front desk, (503) 725-2663, to coordinate.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: After-hours access to the mezzanine elevator is restricted to those with authorized badge and key access. Departments that have been granted access are responsible for coordinating entry and escorting visitors during after-hours periods.

If someone requires egress from a mezzanine level after hours and is unable to exit, they may contact CPSO at (503) 725-4407 for assistance.
