LOCATION: Smith Memorial Student Union (SMSU)

DURATION: 3/12/2026 to 3/20/2026 from 8:00:00 PM to 4:00:00 AM

PROJECT INFORMATION: A cleaning crew will be performing comprehensive floor care throughout the building. The work consists of cleaning all carpets, including individual offices, as well as deep scrubbing floors and pressure washing walls in all restrooms. Work will begin on the 4th floor and progress downward to the basement over the course of the week.

PROJECT BENEFITS: This work is being performed to remove stains, disinfect carpeted surfaces, and improve overall indoor air quality for building occupants.

IMPACT: Schedule: All work will occur after hours (8 PM – 4 AM) to minimize disruption to daily activities. Office Preparation: Occupants are asked to remove all personal items from the floor prior to their scheduled cleaning date. Cleaning crews will move chairs and garbage cans. Notification: A notice will be placed on individual office doors 24 hours before that specific office is scheduled to be cleaned. Odors: There may be lingering smells from carpet cleaning chemicals during the following business day. Follow-up: Cleaning crews may return the following night for a post-vacuuming of the offices. Chemical Use: Commercial cleaning agents will be used. Per University best practices, please contact the Project Manager if you wish to review the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for these products.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: Restrooms will be temporarily closed while floors are deep scrubbed and walls are pressure washed. Building users should use restrooms on adjacent floors while restrooms on their floor are closed for cleaning.
