UPCOMING IMPACT NOTICE

FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION
* * Deans, Directors & Department Chairs: Please distribute to your department personnel * *

LOCATION: Science Research and Teaching Center (SRTC)

DURATION: 6/16/2026 from 3:00:00 AM to 10:00:00 AM

PROJECT INFORMATION: Planned power outage by contractors on site performing overlapping maintenance and construction tasks in an effort to minimize impacts to end users in SRTC to just this day.

Joseph will be set up in the SRTC 1st floor lobby on Tuesday, June 9th from 10:00am to 12:00pm for a Q&A session for anyone to come by an ask questions or voice concerns.

PROJECT BENEFITS: Provide needed infrastructure upgrades for the building's emergency power system, provide power to the New Housing Building construction site, complete maintenance and repairs on Supply Fan 3, and return SRTC to PGE's primary power feed.

IMPACT: There will be 1 generator on the east side of the building overnight during the shutdown for critical loads. There will be noise emission while the generators are running and potentially gas smell in the immediate area.

From 3:00am to 7:00am, mechanical systems will be out of service, including the elevator. Outlet power will be off in the building except for those on backup power. Some lighting will go out in the corridors. Fume hoods will be out of service.

At 4:00am, there will be a brief, full power outage to everything in the building (less than 1 minute). Fume hoods will remain unavailable until 10:00am.

If anyone has any critical equipment they are worried about for any of the planned power outages, please make sure to reach out to Joseph or Jackson or attend the in person Q&A session.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: The building will be closed for access from 3:00am to 7:00am. There will be 1 generator on the east side of the building overnight during the shutdown for critical loads. There will be noise emission while the generators are running and potentially gas smell in the immediate area.
