LOCATION: 2033 SW 4th Avenue (Vacant lot adjacent to the Art Building)

DURATION: 6/8/2026 to 7/31/2026

PROJECT INFORMATION: The "The Courts 2.0" project involves the redevelopment of the vacant lot located at 2033 SW 4th Avenue. Work includes clearing existing hard surfaces, installing new Asphalt Paving and a new sloped Concrete Terrace as well as making efficient improvements of the existing site infrastructure to create a dedicated space for the skateboarding community.

PROJECT BENEFITS: This project transforms an underutilized vacant space into a functional, improved campus amenity for student and community recreation.

IMPACT: • Noise and Vibration: Occupants in nearby buildings, particularly the Engineering Building, should expect intermittent noise and vibrations from demolition and heavy equipment during work hours. • Construction Traffic: Increased presence of construction vehicles and personnel around SW 4th Avenue. • Dust and Odors: Occasional dust or odors may occur during the clearing of hard surfaces and infrastructure work. • Work Hours: Construction activity will typically occur during standard daytime hours to minimize disruption.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: • Sidewalk Obstructions: Periodic staging of equipment may impact pedestrian flow on the west side of SW 4th Avenue.
