UPCOMING IMPACT NOTICE

LOCATION: Vernier Science Center (VSC)

DURATION: 7/20/2026 to 7/23/2026

PROJECT INFORMATION: PSU's elevator contractor, KONE, will be on site to replace the pit ladder to ensure safe, code-compliant access for maintenance teams. They will also perform routine mechanical service, including replacing a worn shaft seal and replenishing the gear oil.

PROJECT BENEFITS: This maintenance ensures PSU meets elevator safety code requirements and that the elevator continues to function safely and reliably for everyone in the building.

IMPACT: The elevator will be completely shut down and unavailable starting the morning of Monday, July 20, until the project is completed at the end of the day on Thursday, July 23. Upper floors will only be accessible via the stairwells during this time.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: Because this work takes the building's elevator offline, upper floors will not be accessible to anyone unable to use the stairs. If you have specific mobility needs or require alternative accommodations during this disruption, please contact James Kavalec as soon as possible.
