DURATION: 10/13/2025 to 10/17/2025
PROJECT INFORMATION: Fire Code required annual Fire Evacuation Drills will be occurring in buildings across campus (excluding residential buildings) during the week of October 13th - 17th, 9am-3pm.
Fire Evacuation Drills are unannounced and occur once per year in Academic and Administrative buildings. Specific information regarding the times and locations of drills is not provided.
Each drill will last approximately 10-20 minutes (smaller buildings will require less time).
Treat every alarm as a real emergency.
PROJECT BENEFITS: Fire evacuation drills are also allow building occupants to familiarize themselves with building evacuation routes and practice departmental procedures. Testing the fire alarm systems ensures that the systems are functioning properly.
IMPACT: When the visible strobes light up and the audible alarm sounds, all building occupants are required to exit the building and gather at the designated evacuation assembly location.
Buildings should be vacated while the strobes are lit and the alarm is sounding and should not be entered until the alarm and strobes have stopped AND the all clear is given for re-entry.

ACCESSIBILITY IMPACTS: All building occupants should utilize the stairs to evacuate the building. If you are unable safely navigate stairs without assistance, please confirm that you are in the Evacuation Assistance Registry.
