The Middle East Studies Center is hosting a great discussion on collective memory and political culture among Palestinian refugees that may be of interest to your students.
Nidal Betare, a Palestinian American scholar and PhD candidate at the University of Exeter, will share insights from his field study on Palestinian refugees in Syria, with a focus on Al Yarmouk Camp. Drawing on over fifteen years of experience in international development and human rights research, Betare will examine how collective memory shapes political culture in refugee communities.
