Urban growers are invited to join ACCD and Urban Farmer Fitzhugh Shaw for an Urban Ag Workshop to discuss building soil from scratch in an urban setting at Greater Valley Community Service's community garden located in Braddock, PA.

 

WHEN: 5:30- 7:00 PM Thurs, May 2

About ACCD's Urban Soils Program:

Urban soil is an important natural resource in Allegheny County. ACCD works with local partners to provide testing, outreach and research around this topic. ACCD's Urban Soils Program focuses on lead and contaminant research, soil testing outreach and technical assistance. ACCD’s expertise also extends to urban farm and garden resources, policy planning and networking.

 

About Greater Valley Community Service's Community Garden:

Located in Braddock, PA, Greater Valley Community Service's community garden aims to improve food insecurity in the local area; provide employment, education and entrepreneurial skills for youth; promote health and wellness; and be a focal point for summer programming.
