Manure injection opportunities

Hello, I would like to share several opportunities for farmers and agribusinesses related to manure injection. Manure injection can be a very powerful tool to maximize nutrient use efficiency, minimize runoff, and reduce odor.

The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is a member of the Manure Injection Partnership, facilitated by Sustainable Chesapeake. In February, Sustainable Chesapeake released 2 requests for proposals (RFPs). One is for manure injection services across the Chesapeake Bay Watershed which is open to both farmers and agribusinesses and closes at the end of April. The second is for supplemental nitrogen management services in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed portion of PA and is open on a rolling basis. Attached are flyers advertising both RFPs.

The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay is also hosting a manure injection field day on Thursday April 9th from 10am to 2pm in Lawton, PA. The intended audience is dairy farmers around Susquehanna County who are interested in manure injection. The event flyer is attached with more information.
