Urban Soil Health Workshop @ Soil Sisters
Wednesday, October 22 | 6 - 8 PM
Urban growers are invited to join Allegheny County Conservation District and partners Grow Pittsburgh and Pasa Sustainable Agriculture for an interactive workshop at Soil Sisters Plant Nursery's new urban farm site in Beltzhoover.
We’ll dig into the importance of prioritizing soil health when starting an urban farm with an overview of an in-progress remediation strategy that improves physical, chemical, and biological soil health while reducing the risk of soil lead exposure. The educational workshop will be followed by a social hour with refreshments and food for attendees.
Please note, this workshop will require attendees to traverse uneven terrain. Please dress comfortably for the weather, and wear closed toed shoes for your own safety. Please reach out to hh...@accdpa.org with questions.
