Wood Duck Landing Farm is seeking one full time worker (with possibility of room & board) and two part time workers at our produce farm in Princess Anne, MD.  We are 20 minutes from Salisbury, MD and 45 minutes from Ocean City, MD and just minutes to Deal Island and the Chesapeake Bay.  Working at our farm will be a great opportunity to learn the ins and outs of a produce farm.  We participate in farmers markets in Princess Anne, Salisbury, Ocean City and Washington, DC, we also sell to local restaurants, as well as wholesale distributers.

We adhere to every pandemic safety measure possible at the farm and at our farmers markets.

Please respond by email and tell us about yourself, why you are interested in the position, what you can bring to the position (not necessarily farm experience, but enthusiasm, other experience, etc) and include a resume.

COMPENSATION:
PAID: Full Time Position - Salary - $500-1000/month (based on experience/time commitment). Plus (your own) room and board. This is a seasonal position from April - November. We ask for a minimum of 2 months commitment and the starting time is negotiable.

ROOM/BOARD: Own room in farm house (entire upstairs of the farm house to include private bathroom)

AVAILABILITY: May-November. Minimum 2 months commitment.

Applicants need to be in good physical condition, have a valid driver's license, enjoy working outdoors, and learn regenerative farming techniques; it's hard but rewarding work. We work closely with UMES and have several experiments running on the farm to include: using corn as a capture crop for industrial hemp; using squash as a capture crop for watermelon; using plants to capture nutrients before run off enters the ditch system (protecting the Bay); using beneficial bugs for vegetable crops..  We will do our best to make the farm experience rewarding and fun.

EXPECT TO LEARN: planting, fertilization, drip irrigation, high tunnel growing and cultivation and operating farmers markets. Also if interested, bee-keeping and how to cultivate shitake mushrooms
