Hello!

I'm reaching out because Moon Valley Farm is hosting a beginner-friendly food safety webinar focused on how diversified veg farms can practically achieve GAP certification and meet FSMA requirements—what worked, what didn’t, and the exact systems we use on the farm.

We’d be grateful if you could share this with your beginner farmer trainees and farmer networks.

Webinar: From Field to Certification: Lessons Learned on the Road to GAP & FSMA Compliance
When: Wednesday, October 22, 12pm-1:30pm
Format: 90 minutes — 45 min presentation + 45 min open Q&A
Audience: Beginning/small-scale farmers (Mid-Atlantic focus; all welcome)

Register: Registration link -- it's FREE to register + attend!

What attendees will learn:

  • How to map a simple, audit-ready recordkeeping system (harvest logs, cooler logs, traceability).

  • Pre-harvest scouting for animal intrusion/fecal contamination + documenting corrective actions.

  • Packshed workflows for washing, grading, labeling, and cooler management that meet GAP.

  • Crew training approaches (English/Spanish) that actually stick during the busy season.

  • How we prepared for audits: checklists, mock audits, and documentation.

  • Tools/templates we use (low-cost or no-cost) and how we adapt them as we scale.

Emma Jagoz + Grant Knud-Hansen will be the presenters.

Thank you for the work you do to support farmers — and for helping spread the word!

Warmly,
Emma Jagoz
