Good afternoon,
We are reaching out to all of the members of the Northeast SARE community to pass along a request from the National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition (NSAC), the organization responsible for advocating for federal policy supporting sustainable agriculture.
NSAC is requesting farmers and ranchers look over and sign their names to a letter they have prepared for Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, as well as other high-level USDA officials. The letter is intended to show USDA how popular the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program is among farmers and ranchers, and convince them to release funding for the program so SARE can continue to serve farmers and ranchers across the country.
Click here to view the letter and add your name in support
It is important to note this letter is a farmer and rancher only letter, if you are not a farmer, and wish to engage around advocating for SARE, feel free to reach out to NSAC’s Nick Rossi at nro...@sustainableagriculture.com for other opportunities. You do not have to have participated in SARE to sign on, if you're a farmer or rancher who supports farmer led research, consider joining our community in voicing support.
Feel free to share this letter broadly.
Thank you for your attention,
Dr. Teresa Leslie
Regional Director, Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education
