Join us Wednesday, March 5th at noon to hear from Penn State Ag and Shale Law Staff Attorney Brook Duer and EmmaRose Strohl, Esq. of Barley Snyder as they discuss two new filing requirements (one federal, one state) that apply to agricultural business entities.

  • Business entities have two new governmental filing requirements in 2025, one arising from a new federal law and one under state law.  Learn about them both and whether they apply to your business in this one-hour webinar.

  • The Corporate Transparency Act was enacted by Congress in 2021 and requires that, effective January 1, 2025, certain defined business entities, including many small or even one-person businesses, must file with the U.S. Department of the Treasury certain information (called “beneficial ownership information”) about the individuals who own or control the business. A federal court Order has delayed the effective date of the requirement for now, but business owners and operators need to be prepared to comply on short notice if, or when, the court-ordered stay is lifted.

  • The Pennsylvania General Assembly similarly enacted a new requirement for certain defined business entities, also effective January 1, 2025, to yearly file certain information, termed an “Annual Report,” with the Pennsylvania Department of State.  The exact deadline varies by business type.

Find out if these laws apply to your business, what information is required, and what preparation you need to be planning now, in order to potentially avoid penalties and be fully compliant with these two new legal requirements.
