I wanted to let you know about an upcoming event at the Kingsley Association in Pittsburgh, on October 8 (from 12-4pm). ACCD, PASA, the National Young Farmers Coalition, and the USDA are hosting a workshop called “Cultivating Growth: USDA Programs and Other Resources for Underserved, Veteran, and Beginning Farmers”.

This workshop will be a chance for farmers who may qualify for special consideration under one of USDA’s agency programs to learn more about what they offer. These special considerations are for farmers from historically underserved communities, beginning farmers, and veterans. They day will include a USDA overview, a farmer panel, a listening session so attendees can share their experiences and needs, and time to network one on one with service providers.

Lunch will be provided, and the event is free, but we ask that you register using the link below so we can plan for lunch.

Also, the Urban Ag Working Group will be having a happy hour at East End Brewing (down the street) following the event. All are welcome to attend.

Thank you,

Jon
