Hey there Pasa community!

The Horn Farm Center in York, PA, is now accepting registrations for four in-depth learning experiences beginning in early 2026. Now is the time to sign up!--explore full details at hornfarmcenter.org/training-programs/

From designing regenerative food systems to restoring degraded habitat, the Horn Farm's annual Training Programs are an invitation to deepen your roots in the land while fostering essential skills for lifelong land stewardship.

In 2025, over 50 students from all experience levels joined us. Many are applying what they learned today by starting small nurseries and market gardens, pursuing lawn conversions and community habitat projects, and incorporating ecological action into their professional and personal lives.

See below for a glimpse of our 2026 offerings:

~ Growing Food ~

Weekly classes on Tuesdays and Fridays, February 17th - October 16th
Experience a full season tending ecological food systems. Through classroom modules and field experiences, this program covers greenhouse propagation, ecological design, and plenty of flight time with both annuals and perennials, including mixed agroforestry systems. Suitable for aspiring small farmers, ambitious gardeners, and anyone looking to deepen their relationship with the land.
*Applications due Sunday, January 25th. Scholarship support available

Monthly classes on Wednesday evenings starting January 21st
Explore the science and craft of tending honeybees in all seasons. Hands-on sessions with live apiaries cover the fundamentals of managing a colony on a residential scale. At the end of the season, students have the option to take home their own bees and enroll in a second year (discounted cost) while keeping a hive at home.

~ Restoring Habitat ~

January 10th, 24th, and February 7th
Learn how to partner with nature and revive degraded ecosystems. This program emphasizes human-scale, resourceful approaches to habitat restoration that do not rely on synthetic chemicals. Suitable for active and aspiring landscape practitioners, landowners with struggling woodlots and green spaces, environmental educators, and anyone seeking community with like-minded land stewards.

🌼 Ecological Gardener Training Program | 16 Weeks
Weekly classes on Tuesdays, February 3rd - May 19th
Dig into the nuances of creating and nurturing functional native plant habitats. Students build ecological literacy and observation skills to inform garden design for both residential and restoration contexts, learning how to bolster resilient, biodiverse systems in human spaces. Different lenses for approaching ecological revival are explored, including modern science, traditional ecological knowledge, and emergent practices.
*Applications due Sunday, January 25th.

...

We hope you can join our growing community of lifelong learners and land stewards this new year!

For all programs, no prior experience is required and early sign-ups are encouraged.
