“Two short surveys are now open to better understand tree seed and seedling supply for reforestation activities across the Appalachian region. This effort, led by Ecological Health Network in partnership with New Leaf Climate and The Nature Conservancy, aims to gather input on how seeds and seedlings are produced, sourced, and used—and to identify opportunities to strengthen seed and seedling supply for restoration work.
There are two versions of the survey:
If you are involved in any of these activities, your input would be valuable. Each survey takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and will remain open through June 1, 2026. Responses are confidential and will be reported only in aggregate.
Recognizing how busy and demanding this time of year can be, your consideration in responding is greatly appreciated."

To:
Dear VCI Strengthening Supply Chain Systems for Agroforestry and Reforestation Convening Friends,
I hope you all had a restorative winter and are enjoying the warmth and longer days of spring.
I’m reaching out to invite those of you working in tree seed or seedling production, or in tree planting within the Appalachian region, to participate in a survey. The goal is to better understand how seeds and seedlings are produced, sourced, and used, and to identify opportunities to strengthen supply for restoration and other tree-planting efforts from Alabama to Newfoundland.
If you are working outside the region, I would greatly appreciate your help in sharing the survey through your listservs, newsletters, or other relevant communications. And if you are in the region, I would also be grateful if you could help spread the word. I would also welcome any suggestions for other groups or organizations that could help amplify the survey.
This effort is led by Ecological Health Network in partnership with New Leaf Climate and The Nature Conservancy.
There are two versions of the survey:
For ease of inclusion, I provided short and longer form, ready-to-use blurb texts below that can be copied directly into your newsletter or listserv.
The surveys will be open until June 1, 2026.
Many thanks for your support!
Best wishes,
Eve
