Hello neighbors,
A message from one of our neighbors to share:

Greetings neighbors.  Hope all of you are doing well!  :) Next weekend, on Saturday, June 12, and Sunday, June 13, Monroe County United Ministries (MCUM) is having their annual Each One, Feed One, Drive.  Their goal is to collect five tons of nonperishable food and cleaning and hygiene items.  Per MCUM's information on this drive, one in four Monroe County families are considered food-insecure.  MCUM has a large client-choice food pantry that's available to visitors once per month for a three-day supply of groceries.  MCUM relies on 7,000 pounds of non-perishable food every month, which feeds about 200 families.  Donations are key to the pantry's success.  For more information on MCUM, see mcum.org.

As I've done in the past, I volunteered my front porch to be a drop-off site for this drive.  I live at 3500 E Morningside Drive (light green ranch with a dark green metal roof) which is near Lexington and Park.  There will be a MCUM sign by my driveway.  If you'd like to donate, you can leave items on the tarp on my front porch.  (I'll bring the items inside at night to protect them from critters.)  Please leave items no later than 6:00pm on Sunday, so that I can deliver items to MCUM by 7:00pm on Sunday.  Below is a list of the items MCUM needs most right now, but they accept all forms of non-perishable food items and cleaning/hygiene products.  If you're able to donate to MCUM, thanks for supporting those in need in our community!  And thanks much to those neighbors who have generously donated in the past, both to the Each One Feed One drive and to the three-congregation cleaning/hygiene item drive we had for MCUM in April!
