Dear PRC Families, Alumni, and Friends,

We’re looking forward to a great afternoon of racing this Friday as Pacific Rowing Club takes on St. Ignatius in our PRC x SI Dual at Lake Merced.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our athletes to compete in a head-to-head format while keeping things local, spirited, and community-focused.

Event Overview

  • Location: Lake Merced Boathouse
  • Race Distance: 1,650 meters
  • Format: Head-to-head racing (PRC vs SI)

A final race schedule will be shared once lineups are confirmed.

Spectator Viewing (Important)

To give you the best view of the racing—and to help us manage congestion around the docks—we encourage families to watch from:

Skyline Boulevard side of the lake (far side of the course)

From this vantage point, you’ll be able to:

  • See a larger portion of the race unfold
  • Spread out more comfortably along the course
  • Avoid congestion near the launch and docking areas

We ask that families avoid gathering directly around the docks and launch zones, as these areas need to remain clear for athlete safety and boat movement.

Livestream

The event will be streamed live on the Pacific Rowing Club YouTube channel and broadcast to both YouTube and Facebook.

This is a great option for family members and friends who prefer to watch remotely or for those who want to avoid crowding along the shoreline.

After Racing

Following the event, if time permits have a light, informal gathering with athletes, coaches, & any alumni that make it out to the lake. This is a simple opportunity to connect and celebrate the racing together.

We’re excited to continue building this dual into a meaningful tradition for both programs. Thank you, as always, for your support in helping us create a safe, organized, and positive experience for our athletes.

Best,
