OWASP Projects Update

In January 2016, I was elected to the OWASP Global Board of Directors and then the board voted and appointed my primary focus to OWASP Projects. The purpose was to oversee its current state, improve processes and ensure that self-assessments were enabled so everyone could plug into a streamlined processes.   This was also one of the (3) areas that I promised to focus on so was very much inline with my personal goals.

We have come to a very important milestone(s) and OWASP needs your input

UPDATE #1 OWASP PROJECTS

We have a rough consensus workflow document that has been worked on as a group and ready for YOUR comments focused on projects

With so many active participants and points of view the best way to gather rough consensus is face to face at OWASP AppSec events.  If you are headed to AppSecEU or AppSecUSA please plan to attend the OWASP Summit or sessions related to operational tasks.  But regardless if you attending we need your input on the FINAL survey that will shape the future or OWASP Projects (results will be posted publicly of course)

UPDATE #2 HELP WANTED

 Update the OWASP Foundation is conducting its final round of interviews for those that have applied to Senior Project Coordinator Role.  In summary this role will be a senior position at OWASP to lead and be responsible for Projects full-time without conflict.  Some would call it a CTO like role others would call it the person in charge of management of technology at OWASP and its projects, regardless of what you call it, this role is critically important to future of OWASP Foundation as a technical organization.  The roles requires leadership, technical know how and a understanding of a global community.  We expect this process to be completed this week and announcement coming soon.   OWASP is also in the final phase of hiring a Global Community Advocate/Manager, so there are many NEW and EXCITING things coming that are inline with our strategic goals and documented here.
