OWASP is and will remain apolitical

Hi OWASP Leaders and Board,

For 25 years, the OWASP Foundation has proudly served a global community dedicated to making software more secure. Throughout this time, our social media, community spaces, and public communications have remained intentionally apolitical. This is not only a long‑standing community value, but it is also a requirement of our status as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

By staying neutral and nonpartisan, we help ensure that our mission, our projects, and our community remain open, inclusive, and welcoming to everyone, everywhere.

We are working on a revision of our Social Media Policy to update the policy and embed this bedrock principle. If you want to be involved in the policy review, please join #policy_discussion on Slack.

We’re grateful for the community’s support in upholding these principles and for helping OWASP continue to be a trusted, mission-driven resource for the world.
