Minutes of the Meeting - Cairo Chapter Y2020 Planning

Thank you for attending the chapter meeting, please find below the Meeting Minutes (Apologize for the delay sharing the MoM):

Discussions/Action Items:
· We agreed to set number of KIPs at the beginning of each year and evaluate them regularly during the year.
o Below the planned KPIs for Y2020.
· The chapter should plan from now for the planned release of OWASP top 10 so we can schedule special event for it.
o Adel Abdulmonim to coordinate with ETIDA to host the event
· Our Chapter should establish a formal communication with OWASP new board members to discuss the issues we faced last year.
o Fateh to send email to Vandana and Sherif in addition to other board members
· Enhance the regional collaborations with the chapters in Africa and Middle East
o Fateh to request activating Africa leaders mailing list
· Fateh to check with foundation for the following:
o If the chapters could participate to support the NGOs
o If we can establish a program for the chapter board members’ management ( give Ambassador badge, set Maximum years of participation ....)
· We need to build a list of the NGOs and others entities so we can plan for how we coordinate with the chapter members who are ready to support the community
o Hassan to work on an initial list
· The chapter to align with RiseUp event so we can coordinate with the chapter members to provide free consultation for small Startups
o Fateh to contact the organizers
· We need to make chapter accounts over social media more active
o Fady to get access to the Twitter and Facebook accounts and take the ownership to post minimum to posts per month over both channels.
· The chapter will host OWASP Africa Y2021
o Fateh to prepare the event budget sheet to be reviewed before end of April 2020
· The chapter should get Feedback from the community regarding our chapter activities
o Hassan to build survey link and share it without mailing list.
· Enhance our social networks’ activities
o We need to get support from chapter members to support on this
· There should be a focal point coordinating with ITI for the planned activates
o Hassan to handle the communication and engage Talaat and other chapter supporters.
For Y2020, our target is to:
1. Schedule an event with three universities to introduce OWASP projects for the students.
· Dr. Shousha will support introducing the chapter to Dr. Nashwy at Nile University for master student
· Ahmed Saafan will coordinate the event with Cairo University
· Hassan Mourad to coordinate the event with AUC university
2. Add minimum 400 subscription to our mailing list
3. Running minimum three events with ITI
4. Finalize the planning for OWASP Africa Y2021

· Our chapter to participate in the new polices review, below is the link for all policies and a link for a shared document for chapters policy. This is a good place to add our recommendations for Ambassador badge and other ideas discussed in our last meeting.
· Create an open Slack group for chapter and WhatsApp group for event planning [Fateh to create and share the links, Next week].
· Planning for Online event for Juniors [Fateh to contact ITI junior Academy, Next week], initial agenda to be discussed over Slack/WhatsApp group.
· Scheduling an online call with Andrew van der to discuss the challenges we faced last year [Fateh, Planned next week].
· Activate the Africa leaders mailing list [Tickets have been opened, Fateh to follow up].
· Fateh to check with foundation If the chapters could participate to support the NGOs [Fateh, August 2020].
· Hassan Morad to share online sheet with the list of the NGOs and others entities so we can plan for how we coordinate with the chapter members who are ready to support the community
· We need to make chapter accounts over social media more active [Fady to give access for chapter twitter account for Saafan and Hassan, Next week]
· Our chapter to support Morocco in AppSec Africa 2020 [Fateh to contact Azzeldin and coordinate, Next week]
· Start the planning for AppSec WASP Africa Y2021, we have contacted the chapters leaders [Fateh to call for meeting, September]
· Follow up with local universities to introduce OWASP projects for the students.
· Dr. Shousha will support introducing the chapter to Dr. Nashwy at Nile University for master student
· Hassan Mourad to coordinate with AUC university
· Heba Farahat to coordinate with Cairo university
· Planning for the events with ITI [Fateh to contact ITI and be sure the events schedule will be appropriate for the students' course schedule, initially we are targeting November and December]
