Hi all,

I present to you the first weekly MSTG development update!

Progress has been slow since we finalized the new guide outline. The good news is that quite a few authors have signed up, especially for the Android chapters, and some of them have produced great content, so we’re making some progress there. Again, please update the chapter status whenever you finish writing content, and ping the reviewer (or me if there is no one listed), otherwise it’s difficult to keep things going.

Some test cases still don’t have authors - iOS writers are in especially short supply so we definitely need some more help there! For everyone who has access to the guide but hasn’t started working on anything yet, now is a good moment to pick up a test case and start writing content.

Note that if you do sign up as an author, you’ll be expected to contribute to the guide as well - if there’s no activity logged within a month you’ll be removed from the “authors" column.

FYI, here is a quick list of the authors that have been active between March 31st and now. I only counted people who:

  1. are listed as authors or reviewers on the project plan AND
  2. have made changes to the guide (as seen in the revision history).

Android (recently active authors):

Julian Schütte

Sven Schleier

Shiv Patel

Stephanie Vanroelen

Dennis Titze

Bernhard Mueller

Davide Cioccia

Stephen Corbiaux

iOS (recently active authors):

Vincent Tan

Aaron Gutzman

Saurabh Mishra

Davide Cioccia

Jos Heijmans

Let me know if I left anyone out. I’ll be monitoring this more closely from now on, so we can get a clearer picture about the top contributors / potential lead authors for the various sections.

Finally, a brief update from Sven and me: Sven has been working some of the Android test cases and will be doing more this week. I’ve been super busy with a research paper for the last couple of months, but will hopefully pick up the MSTG Android reverse engineering chapters in the near future.

Other authors: Would be great to get an update about what you are currently working on!

Cheers,

Bernhard

Hi Er Pragati Singh,

Note that the list I sent out only mentions authors that are shown in the revision history for the last 10 weeks or so. This is to keep track of who is actively working on stuff right at this very moment – meaning you won’t show up if you haven’t done anything lately. Nevertheless, you’re still listed in the “authors” section of the MSTG.

Cheers,

Ben
