Hi ClubNet!

The European Orienteering Championships start on Wednesday. This is the first time a major international orienteering competition is being hosted in Belgium, and the program of Sprint Relay, Knockout Sprint, and Sprint should make for some exciting TV. All of the races take place in the afternoon in Belgium, so most US viewers will have the opportunity to get some daytime TV action. See below for more information about IOF TV and how to watch the races.

Please pass on the schedule to your clubs! This is a chance for Americans to see how exciting these sprint formats can be, in a way that we rarely get to experience in North America.

August 2025

Sprint orienteering is back! EOC 2025 kicks off Wednesday in Belgium.

After 12 months, where all international orienteering has been about forest orienteering, we are now shifting focus to hard surface, fast shoes and razor-sharp decisions in the sprints.

Belgium is hosting its first ever major international orienteering championships, the 2025 European Orienteering Championships from August 27-31.

Sprint Relay, Knock-Out Sprint and Sprint is on the programme this week in flat and fast terrain in three different cities in Northeastern Belgium.

Close to 300 athletes from 32 different nations have signed up for the races - and you are invited to follow the action on close hand.

Whether you are travelling to Belgium or watching from home, you are guaranteed exciting orienteering action from the cobblestones in Flanders.

Public broadcasters in Czechia, Finland, Norway, Sweden and France are showing the races live. Viewers in Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg can go to Eurovision Sport.

And everyone is invited to IOF TV for the high quality broadcasts with English and German commentary!
