NAOC 2026 + you = fun

In 2026 it is OUSA's turn to host the North American Orienteering Championships (NAOC). No clubs are ready to host without help. Are you interested in volunteering from afar or traveling to volunteer?

If you would be willing to help organize NAOC 2026 in Laramie, WY or Tucson, AZ, please fill out this survey by December 13th, 2024.

Club contacts, please share to your club mailing lists! Filling out the survey is not a commitment, just an expression of interest so we can gauge the feasibility of hosting this event in one of those locations. 

Based on my personal experience with the World Games 2022 and NAOC 2024, organizing a major event is certainly challenging, but also a lot of fun! Filling out the survey will also be fun.

For everyone's information now that the holiday season is past, the response to the survey by orienteers potentially willing to fill various volunteer roles was gratifyingly sufficient to make an NAOC 2026 in either Wyoming or Arizona seem possible. To those of you who felt able to fill it out, thank you. To all, things aren't yet so settled as to justify an announcement as to whether it will be Wyoming or Arizona, nor when, but things are moving towards that behind the scenes. The location and timing of NAOC 2026 will be made public as soon as can be managed, which appears likely to be anywhere from a few weeks to a few months from now -  please be patient while that gets sorted out.
