We recently identified a MeOS behavior that can produce incorrect results. While the probability of occurrence is low, clubs using MeOS to score NREs and other important events may want to be aware of it.
Summary of the Issue
If a runner punches Finish, then goes back on course to correct missed punches (or collect more points in a score-o) before download, MeOS will not include the time of any punches that occur chronologically after the Finish punch in the calculation of the run time.
This means that if a runner:
MeOS will incorrectly report the run time as 0:45:00 and the run status as OK.
In a score-o, a runner punching controls after punching Finish will receive the points for the additional controls, but no additional time unless Finish is punched again prior to downloading.
Tool Available
A downloadable “Punch Issues” results list has been created that flags the presence of the following on runners’ cards:
This can be run as a post-competition report after an event to catch potential problems before publishing results. You can find and download this here.
If you have any questions or would like additional detail, please feel free to contact me.

Good afternoon,
I’ve received some feedback privately that it would be helpful if some guidance were available on how to download a list from the MeOS website and get it installed for use in a competition. I decided to post that here in case others have similar questions. Included are a couple of examples of the list output in scenarios where there was a punch after finish, and a malfunctioning control which led to a number of competitors with negative splits.
If this is not clear, feel free to reach out.
Mike
