The new season of the Orienteering World Cup begins in full swing in the streets of Locarno on Friday afternoon with a sprint, before the Sprint Relay on Saturday and the Knock-Out Sprint on Sunday.
In southern Switzerland, there is plenty of excitement planned over the weekend, when the world's best athletes will have the opportunity to race against each other in the first international races of the year.
Simona Aebersold (SUI), Max-Peter Bejmer (SWE) and Sweden are the title holders in the overall World Cup, which this year consists of 12 races in Switzerland, Sweden, Czechia and Lithuania, which in addition to constituting the final are also European Championships.
And of course you are invited to follow the races. Whether you are ready at the arena in Locarno or want to watch the races from home, you are guaranteed good entertainment.
On IOF TV you can follow all three races with English commentary by Katherine Bett and Jonas Merz.
