How it works

1. Log in and create your teacher profile.

2. Register teams of 3 to 4 students - create as many teams as you would like, a new feature allows for uploading CSV file simplifying the process.  (Top 3 individual scores apply to the team score.)

3. When students are ready, supervise your students completing a 30-question quiz online - limited to 35 minutes.
4.  See your student scores, use them for grades or not, the choice is yours.  When competition ends 4/10/26, MCEE will follow up with $100 gift card per teacher and will announce top state winners.

*Register anytime, but please wait to provide students the access codes until ready to officially test, once a code is entered, it can’t be used again.

Even more reasons to participate!

Personal Finance Is a Montana Graduation Requirement

• Montana students are required to complete a personal finance or economics course as part of their high school graduation requirements, as established by the Montana Board of Public Education.

• Courses and activities that build financial literacy - like budgeting, credit, investing, and decision-making - don’t just meet a mandate; they prepare students for real-world success after graduation.

• The Montana Personal Finance Challenge is an engaging way to reinforce these required skills while motivating students through competition and rewards.

From Montana to Nationals - All Expenses Paid

• The top team in the Montana Personal Finance Challenge earns the honor of representing our state at the National Personal Finance Challenge, with all travel and competition expenses covered by the Montana Council on Economic Education and our partners.

• This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to showcase their financial skills on a national stage at no cost to their school or families.

Thank you to our generous sponsors
