Ag Teachers,
Don't forget that this year is our first year using the new streamlined state proficiency application. This application reduces the number of essays that students have to write from seven to two and cleans up other areas including skills and efficiencies making the application easier for students to complete.
As of today, there are zero state proficiency applications turned in and only 10 being worked on by students statewide.
If you have a student with any interest in a state proficiency, now is the time to help them get this started.
Students simply need to go to their degree and application manager in AET and "add new" AET State Level Proficiency application. From there, a student would select their proficiency area and then the SAE experiences in AET that support the area they selected. Once done with these two steps, the application builds itself. Students are often pleasantly surprised how close they are to having a complete state proficiency application so long as they have decent SAE records in AET.
Looking forward to more applications being worked on and submitted by the February 15 deadline.
