Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know that Victor School is looking for an Agriculture Education and FFA advisor for the 2026-27 school year. After twelve years here, I’m hoping to help find someone who’s a great fit for our program and community.
To make the transition as smooth as possible, I’ve agreed to stay on through the summer to support our students with their fair projects (we have 12 kids showing this year, including 6 with new projects) and to wrap up ongoing grant work, like Carl Perkins. Victor is a small school in the Bitterroot Valley, with about 170 students from kindergarten through 12th grade. High school class sizes are usually 12-15 students, and nearly all of them participate in Ag classes and FFA at some level. We operate on a four-day school week, and next year we’ll have brand new administration and several new teachers joining.
Our FFA chapter is especially strong in poultry, students care for chickens here at school, and we’re waiting on a few grants that would let us set up a small poultry processing operation. We also have a large greenhouse, successful plant sales, and popular basket-making classes. Financially, the chapter is in excellent shape. The Ag teacher's role includes overseeing Perkins, Advancing Opportunities, and Vo-Ed reporting and management.
There is currently a dedicated wood shop teacher at Victor, but he is set to retire at the end of the next school year. That means there will be an opportunity for the new Ag teacher to take on shop classes as well, if that’s an area of interest or expertise.
Although I won’t be teaching anymore, I’ll still be in the valley and am always happy to help the new teacher in any way I can. The job should be listed on the OPI website soon, if it’s not up already. If you have questions or want more details, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
Thanks,
Cassy
