Hi [NAME],
I'm reaching out to share an exciting opportunity we’re offering for young people in Montana. This summer, Reach Higher Montana and Education Design Lab are recruiting 10 young people ages 13–20 from Montana to join a paid fall internship. Interns will work together to co-design Montana's youth career readiness plan (aka a plan to better connect young people with the resources, skills, and support they need to meet the career / future goals they have for themselves). We will share the policy priorities and the plan we identify with state leaders in December 2026.
No experience needed. We're specifically looking for young people whose voices are often missing from these conversations: young people who are out of school or have dropped out, and young people who are living rurally, are tribal members, are in the foster system, LGBTQ. We welcome anyone who hasn't always felt heard in school.
Here's what the internship looks like:
Applications close August 9 at 11:59pm PT. The application is a short self-recorded video (up to 5 minutes) OR a written document (300–600 words). No polish needed.

If you have young people in your network who might be a fit, I'd be grateful if you'd pass this along. And if you have questions or want to talk through whether this is right for your community, I'm happy to connect you with the internship lead at Education Design Lab.
Thank you,
--
