Several teachers who attended the Summer Conference expressed interest in participating in a hands-on knife building workshop. We are excited to offer this professional development opportunity.

The workshop will be led by George Franko, former Agriculture Education teacher from Conrad and Cascade, and will be held at the Cascade High School Agriculture Shop on August 4–5, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

During this two-day workshop, participants will learn the complete knife-making process, including stock reduction, blade grinding, heat treating, hardening, tempering, and finishing techniques. By the conclusion of the workshop, each participant will have crafted and completed their own custom knife to take home.
