Northern Crops Insitute Registation Opens

The NCI Summer Ag Academy is a free, hands-on career exploration experience for high school students currently in grades 9–11 (grades 10–12 in the 2026–27 school year) who want to discover the exciting world of food science, animal science, international trade, and ag technology.

Hosted by the Northern Crops Institute on the North Dakota State University campus in Fargo, ND, this five-day program runs June 22–26, 2026, and offers students the chance to learn from industry pros, explore world-class facilities, and connect with others who share a passion for feeding the world. No prior ag experience is needed, just curiosity and enthusiasm! Housing, meals, and on-site transportation are covered provided by the sponsors of the program.

Participants will choose one of our track options to a be a part of during the entire academy.

Advancing Agriculture Grant

The application process for Advancing Ag-Ed for the 2025-27 cycle is open.  You can utilize the National Program Benchmarks system under grants.   $2000 per Full Time Teacher (FTE). 

You will need to complete your NPB, Growth Plan and Google form.

Grants Now Available from EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced grants [epa.gov] are available for hands-on projects that help people better understand environmental changes in their community and how to address them. Funded projects [epa.gov] will focus on environmental education efforts that use modern tools and equip participants with the skills to make informed decisions and take responsible actions toward environmental stewardship.  Applications [grants.gov] are due March 3. AES Chapter Grant Program

The AES Chapter Grant Program supports local FFA Chapters advancing education, sustainability, and mental health in agriculture. Grants of up to $5,000 fund initiatives in agribusiness education, agricultural and energy innovation, or mental health.  National Teacher Ambassadors for FFA: 2026-27 Application Open
Applications are now open for the 2026-27 National Teacher Ambassadors for FFA cohort. Applications close on March 1. The National Teacher Ambassadors for FFA are selected and provided training from the National FFA on various educator resources and experiences offered by the organization. Once trained, teacher ambassadors serve in their home state as a resource for other agricultural educators and answer questions related to educator resources and experiences. Apply today! Resources Now Available on African Swine Fever
USDA APHIS has developed a campaign, Protect Our Pigs [aphis.usda.gov], to help students learn about animal health and how to protect U.S. swine from African swine fever. Interactive tools and educational materials [aphis.usda.gov] are available now. Ready to develop professionally and reinvigorate your teaching? Applications are now open for the 2026 National Agriscience Teacher Ambassador Academy!

 

NATAA has over 20 years of successfully cultivating agriscience and inquiry-based learning in agricultural education. The Academy serves to train agriculture teachers on how to enhance the science that is already present in agriculture, as well as develop students as problem solvers and thinkers through the inquiry-based teaching method. Applications are due March 16, 2026.
