Subject: Perkins Grant is OPEN!
Importance: High

Good morning,

The Carl D. Perkins Grant for 2026-2027 school year is now open.

I am attaching a few reference items (Grant instructions and spending guide) to assist you in completing the application- there are a few changes in the grant to adjust for the new Montana Career Pathways and updated CLNA form.  The other items to note is that the performance measures are not loaded for each school yet- for this initial application you will not need to complete that section at this time, it will need to be completed when we have final allocations and your budget amendment in October.

We do have zoom technical assistance hours today from 10- 2 or a little longer if we get busy.  You can hop on and someone will be there to assist and answer questions you may have or if you just need us to review before you hit submit.  The CTE specialists will be working hard to review and approve or return applications as quickly as possible to make sure everyone gets their grants submitted by June 30.  Districts that do not open their application and complete it by June 30 will no longer be eligible for Perkins in FY 27.

There are updates on the spending guide around travel and travel for students- please make sure to review them before you finalize your budget pages and submit.  Due to auditing finds this is being reviewed more stringently and is more likely to result in a returned application.  Also as always remember that consumable items and food are not allowable in Perkins spending.  If you are unsure, please reach out to your CTE Specialist that works with your district grant application.

Please note we all work at different times and I respect your time. While I have sent this email at a time that works for me, I do not expect that you read, respond or take action on this item outside your normal work hours.
