Noticed there was a MLIR based CPU jit backend, but it was removed earlier this year. Can another share reasons why? Was it because of performance or maintenance reason?

Thanks,
Joey

Maintenance. It was never fully implemented (launched by default) and was too much work to keep functional.

However we are working on MLIR backed v2 and plan to unify new codegen for CPU with MLIR codegen built in GPU backends, so you are going to see more MLiR in the future.
