Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since we last updated the community. however there has been a lot happening in the past few months which I am very excited to share! We have a few PR's that have transitioned to the voting stage, a new exciting PR that is worth checking out, a new GitHub feature and more!

PRs Open for Voting:
The following PR's have now been opened up for Voting. As always, once a PR has transitioned to the voting stage, it will be accepted "as-is" and no more changes are allowed.
  1. remove file:// protocol https://github.com/openwdl/wdl/pull/349
  2. clarify namespacing https://github.com/openwdl/wdl/pull/340
  3. Add section on file outputs including optional outputs https://github.com/openwdl/wdl/pull/310
PRs Open for Discussion
Check out the following exciting PRs which still need some more discussion before a vote is opened on them!

  1. abbreviated syntax for passthrough call inputs https://github.com/openwdl/wdl/pull/365

Discussions are Here!
Over the weekend some of you may have noticed a new tab appeared in the WDL repo header called "Discussions". Discussions are a Beta GitHub feature which essentially provides us that missing piece of the GH pie allowing for community discussions that are not linked to any one specific issue.

It is a place to ask questions for support (not bug related), talk about the future of wdl, address tasks that are not related to issues, or even just help build a community. We don't fully know yet how we will take advantage of this feature.

To begin with, drop by our opening discussion and tell the community about yourself and how you use WDL https://github.com/openwdl/wdl/discussions/399!

OpenWDL Cadence Call
Another very exciting development we have is the planning of a monthly cadence call, open to anyone from the OpenWDL community! WE are currently still hashing out the details, but for the current proposed time slots, agenda, and  discussion please check out this discussion here: https://github.com/openwdl/wdl/discussions/397

Take care and stay safe everyone!
