Dear all,

I have attended this week's EuroPython in Berlin (Jul 21–27, 2014) and gave a talk on Teaching Python.  The video recording is online.

In the talk, I have focussed on how/why so many Python resources are sub par, and what I have learned about good material with Python for beginners.  I distinguished between references (correct, complete, idiomatic) and tutorials (comprehensible, coherent, and sometimes idiotic.)  I mention some guidelines I found useful in writing good learning material.

I would hope to formalize this list as one of our guidelines, so if any of you have feedback, input or ideas — feel free to shoot me an email.

Cheers,
Robert
