SD-RAN 1.0 released

Hi all,

Today we released SD-RAN 1.0, a minimal O-RAN compliant end-to-end mobile RAN stack. It includes a near-Real-Time Ran-Intelligent-Controller (nRT-RIC) based on micro-ONOS, and a white-box based CU/DU/RU solution leveraging OAI software that has been enhanced to expose  O-RAN compliant interfaces and protocols.

Read more about it in the release notes on the official SD-RAN documentation site. In particular, the documentation includes installation guides for bringing up the solution on RAN hardware, as well as a completely virtualized deployment in a server/VM with sdRan-in-a-Box (RiaB).

If you do not have access to the site, contact us for the username/password for your organization.

Lastly I wish to remind everyone that starting in the new year, we will be hosting SD-RAN Community calls every other Thursday at 9am PT. The first meeting is on Jan 7th where we will discuss this release and more. If you've not received an invite for these meetings, please contact Ain Indermitte (a...@opennetworking.org). SD-RAN is a member-only project, but ONF memberships are available for free for qualified educational institutions.  If your institution joins, you can get access to the project.
