ONOS with Physical Switches

Hi all,

After successfully controlling the Mininet switches and Virtual Switches. Now I want to move to controlling my Physical Switch. My switch is BCM56142/BCM56842 for data and control planes. I have specific toolchains for the same. 

I want to know if it is possible to control the physical switch with Open Vswitch?  Or there is specific OFDPA agent like this https://broadcom-switch.github.io/of-dpa/doc/html/index.html ?

I am really confused as I had never worked with hardware before. That Switch has linux installed on it. Please help.

Basically I have a switch with linux installed. But it does not allow software installation, so I have to do cross-compilation. Please tell me how should I proceed.
