Hello,

I've tried following the steps in the ONOS tutorial several times, and re-installed the VM a few times, but I keep having issues with the "Intents".  When I install the reactive forwarding app, pings work flawlessly between the different hosts, but when I try to use an Intent, the pings fail.  The Intent says it is installed, and when I click on an applicable switch and press "V" to show the installed Intents, the Intent shows up between the two hosts.  But no matter how I install the Intent (either via command line or via the GUI option), the pings fail.

Has anyone else had this problem?  I tried searching this channel, but wasn't seeing anything.  Any guidance on how I can figure out what I'm doing wrong?  I've tried quadruple-checking to make sure I'm working with the correct hosts, but I just can't get even the exact hosts listed in the tutorial to work.  Is there any chance this could be related to the AV software running on my host computer (not within the VM)?

Thank you for any help/guidance you can provide!

Dear Joshua,

Try to check if flowrules installed by the intent actually meet your ping packets.

Thank you for your response Alessio!  I somehow didn't see it until yesterday evening...  Anyway, somehow it's inexplicably working today.  100th time's the charm???

Still, how would I have checked your suggestion?  Do you mean by issuing the "flows -s" command and verifying that there is, in fact, an installed set of flows going between each of the network devices?  Or is there a way to see the logic behind what ONOS decides to do with any given traffic session?

Sorry, still very new to ONOS.

Regards,
