Hello ,
I hope you're doing well.
I am having some issues in implementing BGP-LS with ONOS. I tried with ONOS 1.7, ONOS 2.4 and ONOS 2.7 but I come across the same problem each time.
First it should be noted that my architecture in which I am trying to use BGP-LS with ONOS is a service provider environment with MPLS and IS-IS as IGP. my architecture is quite heterogeneous (more than 15 routers) with cisco routers (IOS XE and IOS XR) and Juniper routers (Junos).
I tried to establish a peering between ONOS and a Cisco IOS XR router in order to trace the topology of my network and I come across the same error each time in the ONOS logs, namely "Packet length should not exceed 4096 " . this is also the same error I get when I also test peering with a Cisco IOS XE router and a Juniper Junos router.
I would like to know if you know how to solve this problem there and how I must install ONOS to no longer encounter this error as well as the configuration to apply.
I thank you in advance for your help.
Attached are some screenshots of the error I am facing.
Best Regards

Hi Philippe,
Do you have the packet capture to share? In our environment we try it with H3C switch but we never met this problem.
We like to try it.

Hello Mr. Macauley Cheng,
Thank you for your answer.
I would also like to point out that in our environment, we use segment routing (MPLS-SR) and our goal initially is to trace the complete topology of our network and display it on the ONOS webGui.
once this step is done, we will think about pushing orders from ONOS to the routers.
we used ONOS 1.7 to perform our tests with BGP-LS.
We tried a peering between ONOS and a Juniper Junos router, another peering between ONOS and a Cisco ios XRv router, and finally another peering between ONOS and a Cisco ios XE router. But we come across the same error in the ONOS logs in each of the three tests: "Packet length should not exceed 4096"
You will find the packet captures between the different tests we performed with each of the three routers.
the different IP addresses you will find in the packet captures are as follows:
- ONOS: 192.168.32.18
- Juniper Junos router: 192.168.32.4
- Cisco ios XRv router: 192.168.32.7
- Cisco ios XRv router: 192.168.32.9
Thanks in advance.
