Hello Tom,

Thank you for your early reply. I think you are right and it's a matter of luck. I understand that it will we enough calculating from s1 to s7 from the topology and then installing the same flow again but swapping the ingress/egress, doesn't it? I was just asking because for me is "rare" that return paths are different, I have never seen it.
Apart from this (this is a different question), in onos gui when I do a ping between two hosts with show related traffic to true (either bits/s, bytes or packets/s) I initially see the link lit in green but without any value above it and then disappears. Is something wrong with my gui? Maybe I have modified something without even realizing it. Thanks in advance.

Best regards

I’m not sure that even your work-around will work. I think you’re just getting lucky with the first path returned being the same. I think that the only reliable way would be to modify the reactive forwarding app so that it programs both directions at the same time on the same switch and swap ingress/egress ports. This too has some limitations in certain environments, e.g. optical.

Hello everyone,

I have just realized that the reactive forwarding app, which uses Dijkstra as the default algorithm, doesn't necessarily take the same path when the packets are sent from the destination back to the source and the topology leads to this situation, as shown in the image. I have thought of setting the max number of paths to find to 1 and it works, but is it the best way to do it? Thanks in advance.

Best regards
