Comac-in-a-box with upf-epc dataplane

Hi everyone,

I'd like to experiment with OMEC, and was able to install Comac-in-a-box on a VM hosted in Google Cloud.

Is it possible to use the upf-epc/bess dataplane instead of ngic? If not, is there a recommended way to try OMEC using a public cloud environment?

Hi Yiannis,

BESS based UPF is not currently supported in comac-in-a-box but we have a plan to support it soon like next month.

If you want to try it by yourself, you’ll have to disable sriov and set “simpleovs” as CNI when you deploy the helm chart, and also pass additional arguments to indicate af_packet interfaces to bess but it may require the helm chart changes.

NGIC helm chart has almost the same configuration option, so referencing the NGIC chart should help.
