Cancer List

Hello Andy and other implementers,

 

We looked at the NCI published list of all cancers.  Our doctors believe this is a very comprehensive list and will really help them instead of a free form text. http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/types/alphalist/

 

What should be the right place to load it? Should we create seperate concept for this or should it be part of the Diagnostics list?

 

Also, is there is a list as such which is available in a text file that can be doanloaded from somewhere else instead of this one - as this one seems to be we have to manually do it one by one.

Rajib,

We already have 70,000 concepts in the dictionary. This link goes to an index and it is not clear which of these terms are missing from our dictionary or are even the same medical concept. I think it might be best to see whether we already have what is necessary. Maternalconceptlab.com search will allow you to search the CIEL/MVP dictionary and if you don't find something that is needed, let me know and we will add them. 

We generally do not simply add long lists of terms unless there is a clinical indication for each one.
