New to OpenMRS: STI/HIV/TB clinic

Hi All,

I have just started to read about OpenMRS as I would like to use this system for an STI/HIV/TB clinic here in Malawi.   Any suggestions on where to start and what forms/modules I should integrate into OpenMRS?

Since you are working in Malawi, I recommend you contact Baobab Heath as a local resource and good place to start.  http://baobabhealth.org/

 

If you are doing MDR-TB, then I would recommend you look into the MDR-TB Module.

Thanks for your help.  I will definitely contact Baobab.  Thanks for the advice.

But just in case Baobab isn't meeting my needs for an HIV/STI clinic, is there a module or form for STI/STDs that is already created? Please let me know. I have hunted for it but with no luck.

I’m not aware of any special modules for HIV care.  But, there are some nice HIV forms that Ellen Ball (PIH) has shared on the Form Bank…

You can easily start with one of the shared forms, and customize it to your exact needs.

Dear Oren (and OpenMRS community),

The Form Bank has a good collection of forms, but many of them are built with OpenMRS 1.6 and Metadata sharing (MDS).  If there are some that are interesting, I can recreate and post using OpenMRS 1.9 and MDS 1.1.8.

Please post 1.9 versions, but don't erase 1.6 versions.

@roger - Excellent point.  Will add OpenMRS 1.9 versions and leave the 1.6 versions.   

It would be nice to know if the form bank is helpful.  Does anyone use these package?

Yes I use them.  I would use them more if each form were accompanied by a screen shot
