Hi,
I am a Google Code-In (GCI) student in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I am very interested in finding out where OpenMRS is used in my country and neighbouring country, Indonesia. Some of my GCI tasks require me to do research regarding the project and according to the OpenMRS Floss Manual :https://www.flossmanuals.net/openmrs-guide/ on line 29, OpenMRS is used in Malaysia and Indonesia. The Atlas does not show that Malaysia uses it either : https://atlas.openmrs.org/ This really surprised me and intrigued me to find out more about OpenMRS being used in a clinic/clinics in my own country.
Most government clinics here, even in the city still manually record data will thousands of paper files and filing cabinets. Some have integrated EMR but still utilise paper. There's only one "paper-less" hospital here. It would be great to know where OpenMRS is being used in Malaysia because I was also considering paying the clinic(s) a visit to shoot footage as well because I am also completing a promotional video for the new OpenMRS iOS client app recently developed by a fellow GCI participant.
Best regards,
Zoe
Zoe, I have found the same problem with the ‘atlas’ link which I use to update my tracking of OpenmRS implementations for my presentations. I wonder how this deficiency may be overcome e.g. having a “tracking” function at some point inbuilt into the installation process. Terry

Dear Terry and Zoe,
FYI: the Atlas module is bundled with the Reference Application, so we are being more proactive in collecting implementation information than we were previously. It still is going to require configuration (which is probably good because we wouldn’t want everyone that does a test install of OpenMRS to appear on the Atlas). See… https://wiki.openmrs.org/display/docs/Reference+Application#ReferenceApplication-OpenMRSAtlas
If an implementation doesn’t update their information periodically it will automatically fade from the Atlas. When in the Atlas (https://atlas.openmrs.org) if you click on “View” and uncheck “Fading” it will show you implementations that haven’t been updated recently. When doing so, it shows a site in Malaysia…

Hope this helps. Happy New Year to all!

Dear All implementers,
I'm just an ordinary user of openmrs in a few private medical service in indonesia.
Lack of regional support make us can't spread the usage of openmrs. Our facebook group "Openmrs Indonesia" not-so-much progress from the member.

Hi Phong,
My name is Jan Flowers from the University of Washington. I have been working with the MOH, CDC, and Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) in Vietnam for the past 5 years on OpenMRS implementations in their national-level and provincial-level supported health facilities. Although the current version is focused on HIV care & treatment, it might help for you to understand what work has already been done and if there is any work you can leverage in your implementation. The work includes some interesting extensions, including, interoperability with an MPI and Registration system, mHealth integrations for addressing the cascade of care and lost-to-followup, Vietnamese translations, and more. I would be glad to introduce you to those folks if you would like?
Best,
Jan
