[Hibernate 4 Upgrade] Need hibernate search upgrade too

Hi All,

While I'm going through the hibernate upgrade, found out that it need to do a hibernate search update also. Because current hibernate search depend on the current hibernate version. With the hibernate update, it has re-factored classes into different packages and drop some classes as well. Basically there are API level changes. Especially hibernate session has re-factored to different package. So the hibernate search can't find the hibernate core classes that they internally referring.

So this upgrade will associate with hibernate search update too. Any thoughts on proceeding with the upgrade is highly appreciate.

Yes! Most likely we will have to update hibernate search too if necessary.

Hi Harsha,

We're expecting this (as part of platform 1.12) to be a big upgrade. And for implementations and module authors, dealing with an upgrade of Hibernate + Hibernate Search is not significantly worse than just dealing with an upgrade of Hibernate.
